Prenatal, Labour + Birth Doula Support (Nelson, BC)

Complete packages starting at $1,200+

A woman lying face down on a therapy or massage table, receiving treatment from a practitioner whose hand is on her lower back. The woman has long brown hair and wears a red top and black pants. The setting is a cozy room with a wooden floor, a mid-century modern armchair, a large leafy plant, and a patterned rug.

Many Canadian insurance plans and benefits providers offer partial or full coverage for doula services, often through Health Spending Accounts (HSAs), Wellness Accounts, or select extended health benefits. Coverage may be available through providers such as Sun Life Financial, Manulife, Canada Life, GreenShield, Pacific Blue Cross, TD Insurance, and Carrot Fertility, among others.

Because coverage varies by plan, I recommend checking directly with your plan administrator or benefits provider to confirm what doula support may be eligible for reimbursement.

I’m also an approved providers under BC’s Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program, meaning my Birth Support services may be eligible at low-cost or no-cost. Please contact me for more information.

Supported, no matter what

Here’s the honest truth: birth is unpredictable and babies come when they want to.
This why reliable (and amazing) backup support is built into all of my birth support packages — so you always have support and reassurance, just in case.

I intentionally take on just a small handful of clients each month. That means you get my full attention, my best energy, and a real relationship - not a doula stretched thin across 5 different due dates. So while I always have a plan B, the reality is you'll almost always get plan A: me.

For that “just in case” support, I partner with Sarah Cicchine of Alpine Prenatal, a fellow Nelson-based birth doula, mom, and good friend as my trusted backup. If I truly can't be with you - think back-to-back births or unexpected illness - Sarah can step in so you always have experienced, compassionate doula support by your side.

  • “[Laine] showed up for us in a way I didn't know was possible and gave my husband and I the peace of mind we needed going into baby three. Laine's care during labour was exceptional.”

    - Sarah C, Birth Support Client 2025

  • “Laine was a constant steady presence during labour and I felt very well supported as things progressed quickly.

She also supported my husband as a birth partner and they were an excellent team in providing me comfort and reassurance.

My birth was intense and unmedicated but the strong support helped me progress with confidence.”
